Easiest Video Editing Software

You might find that the free video editing software above are either too simple to meet your demends like audio editing and color correction, or too difficult to understand the workflow, then you should look at Wondershare Filmora9, which has significant improvement in overall performance, making the product faster, more powerful, and taking the user editing experience to a new level.
Hi Lance, thanks for an informative article. I’m currently editing my YouTube videos on a 5year old laptop and Movie Maker. My problem is it crashes a lot and I have to exit and start over. I would like something with more features than Movie Maker and am also in the market for a new computer. Filmora or Power Director seems like it would fit my needs, but my question is what should I be looking for in a computer to handle all the video editing. Processor, graphics card, RAM, etc. Thanks again.
If you are a Windows user and looking for a good video editing software which is capable yet beginner friendly, Adobe Premiere Elements is to the software to go for. I know at $99.99, it is not exactly cheap, however, I still think that it is good for beginners who are willing to spend a little money. Those looking for a free alternative should go for Shotcut, which I mentioned earlier (best video editors for YouTube). I prefer Premier Elements because of a few reasons. Firstly, just like iMovie acts as a great primer for Final Cut, Premiere Elements is the stepping stone to Premiere Pro. If you see yourself as a professional video editor few months down the line, you should start in such a way that you can reach there. You will have to switch to a professional grade video editing software in the future, so why not start with something which will help you do just that. For me, that alone is a reason you should consider this one. You will also love it sleek interface along with its natural and intuitive editing environment. It also comes with all the horsepower that you will need as a beginner. if you are serious about video editing, you should start with this one.
There are so many comments and I just can’t read them all. I need an simple advice. I started shooting short videos in 4k (I use Lumix G7) and I want to trim and combine them together and make a max 2min videos. So, I don’t need nothing fancy, just to add some music, transition effects etc. I saw your list but my main concern is if I could edit videos on my pretty low laptop configuration. Can you help me with this? Thank you.
Good old iMovie comes baked into Mac OS. Like most native Mac apps, this video editor is very intuitive to use. It features a drag and drop interface. Mac users can use iMovie as a playground for learning the basics of video editing. Once you are up to speed, you may find that alternative video editing software in this list may better suit your needs.
Overall, Pinnacle simplifies the editing process. The latest version features new PiP controls, which allow you to add new video into an already existing video. Other editing tools include a pan and zoom tool, a color correction tool, and audio capabilities. It also features several editing tools typically only found in more professional grade editing programs, including a chroma key tool.
