DaVinci Resolve is arguably the most advanced video editor on the list. While it has many professional video features, its interfaces remain intuitive. Alongside video slicing and trimming you can master audio and correct color. You can also use it to add 2D and 3D titles to your video. If you just want to trim and upload your videos, the rich feature set of DaVinci Resolve may be too extensive. However, if your video project is a little more advanced, the free version of this software is hard to beat.
Anchor Video Maker, available on iOS and Android, is great for making audio content much more engaging. Don’t let those audio files go to waste: awesome videos can also start life as soundbites. If you are a budding YouTuber and you need a software which is not only free but also doesn’t cut down on features, look no further than Shotcut. Shotcut is an open source and free video editor which provides you with all the editing tool you will ever need. Since the editor is open source and completely free, if you are just starting out, it’s a great place to learn the basics of video editing without investing any money. Most of the video editors follow the same editing basics, hence once you are ready to move to a professional grade editing software like Premiere Pro or Final Cut, the switch won’t be that hard. The best part about using Shotcut is that despite being free it doesn’t cut down on too many features. The editor supports a wide variety of video and audio formats with a good selection of effects and color correction tools. Also, Shotcut is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux, so no matter which OS you are running, you can install and use Shotcut on your device.
I have read your reviews and am leaning to the Power Director 16 or the Muvee Reveal Finale. I will try both but I have 70 years of movies that have been converted from Legacy Box and now sit on my computer. My biggest issues has been finding a way just to shorten what may be 6 hours of Christmas day with the kids down to a 15 minute video that is fun to watch. Also, all of the old movies from my parents and hopefully enhancing the video quality. I am 63 years old and just starting out on this journey with little tech knowledge. I am looking for the easiest program that I can sit down for 20 minutes and not have to re-learn what to do.
Horizon is a simple app that enables users to capture videos horizontally no matter the position of their phone. When we rush to capture a moment we may forget to tilt the phone and capture the action horizontally. This app can help you solve that problem: all footage shot in the app is captured horizontally no matter how you tilt your phone. Check out this demo to see how it works. Avoid vertically captured videos and shoot quick videos in the Horizon app.
If you are a Windows user and looking for a good video editing software which is capable yet beginner friendly, Adobe Premiere Elements is to the software to go for. I know at $99.99, it is not exactly cheap, however, I still think that it is good for beginners who are willing to spend a little money. Those looking for a free alternative should go for Shotcut, which I mentioned earlier (best video editors for YouTube). I prefer Premier Elements because of a few reasons. Firstly, just like iMovie acts as a great primer for Final Cut, Premiere Elements is the stepping stone to Premiere Pro. If you see yourself as a professional video editor few months down the line, you should start in such a way that you can reach there. You will have to switch to a professional grade video editing software in the future, so why not start with something which will help you do just that. For me, that alone is a reason you should consider this one. You will also love it sleek interface along with its natural and intuitive editing environment. It also comes with all the horsepower that you will need as a beginner. if you are serious about video editing, you should start with this one.
Is there such a thing as a SIMPLE video editor that allows 1) video capture from our digital cameras, 2) editing capability that allows us to delete unimportant frames (Ex. I’m shooting and a UPS truck enters, blocking our shot or we take video of other people not subject matter). I pull the frame down onto a track or story board, deleting from either end of all the frames. 3) movie maker then makes the final video movie. Nothing fancy, just documentary video.
Incredibly user friendly, this is definitely considered one of the easiest to learn platforms for new video editors. The user-interface is divided into three distinct components: add photos and video, choose a style, and view your movie. It is worth noting here that Muvee Reveal X isn’t a sophisticated as some of the other programs on our list. Muvee Essentially works by “analyzing” the raw footage you give it, choosing the highest quality pieces and integrating them into a movie using predetermined “styles,” which integrate special effects, transitions, etc. Though there are customization options that do allow you more creative liberty. But, if you are looking for something incredibly simple and easy to use, Muvee is a good option.
